Gearing up for the U.K.

We are gearing up for the November tour in the U. K. ! I can’t wait to get back there. It must be my mother’s DNA that makes me long for that place. My husband, Jeff Hanna, will be joining me for a week of the tour. I am very excited that David Henry and Jason Goforth will be joining me as well. The three of us are the heart of the new record and we feel like brothers and sister on a big adventure! Jeff is icing on the cake…the legendary, founding member of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, it is always a thrill to have him on stage with me. It feels kind of odd sometimes that I married one of my most important musical heroes. Slight age difference…ha. The first song I learned to sing was House at Pooh Corner from the Uncle Charlie record…and of course, there is the iconic Will the Circle be Unbroken. He shaved his mustache, and I was smitten. Who would hide such a handsome face with hair?! Anyway, he is a prince. I feel lucky to have had such a sweet man in my life for so long.

We have been together 20 years now.

I will be in a van full of men for the first time in years. Should prove interesting after the Wine, Women and Song tours! What will I do? Girls, come out and hang with me. I will need some female company!

See you all in November. xxoo

Have lots of fun on the UK tour. Wish I could join you, but no such luck. Sure would be nice if you played in the Chicago area sometime … would love to see you again.

Have fun on your trip to the UK. Glad that Jeff could be with you. It’s always more fun when your best friend is along. Twenty years is a long time. I’m happy to say that my first husband (first love) are back together. We were married 16 1/2 years and haven’t spoke to each other (no children) for 14 years. I have been blessed. Take care!

Oh by the way…..I like Jeff without his moustache also! :)

Anyhow, I’m hoping that some day soon you come up here to Minnesota and do a show or two, you do have many fans here too. Take care…..

    Hi, Matraca!

So nice to be able to leave a comment without needing to have a Facebook account. That seems to be rare these days.

Love the new album and very much looking forward to seeing you at the Sage, Gateshead on Monday.

May we also look forward to a Wine, Women and Song tour in 2013? Here’s hoping!

    Hi All

Thank you for the Sage concert last. We really enjoyed ourselves. We were especially taken by the overall sound and feel generated with Jason Goforth. It would have been interesting to mere ordinary folks like us if you could have spent a little time showing how the smooth sound was generated through the gizmo. Maybe something for another show. Great night! Hope the rest of the tour goes well for you all.

    Best Wishes

    Hi there

Travelled down from Scotland to see you at the Sage last night, truly brilliant performance from all of you. Loved the arrangements (and of course the spillage mopping up incident). Great night and fantastic to see another brilliant gig at The Sage so soon after Wine, Woman and Song.
    Thanks again.
    Ricky

    Hi Matraca,

Fantastic to see that you are returning to the UK for a solo tour. Already got the new CD, absoutely fantastic, soulful and such emotion throughout – a treasure. However, I hope you will be playing some of the older records as well on the tour.

Have a safe trip and see you in Leamington Spa

    Hi Matraca,
Thanks for a fab show at the Sage. It is good to be able to put faces to the names on the CD and see great musicians enjoying their work.
    Till the next time.
